The application process for Employment Exchange Registration was offline for a few days. Starting on the 27th of September 2021 the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Assam has completely digitized the procedure for Employment Exchange Registration. So, from now onwards, you can apply online for the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate in Assam and manual registration has been closed.

Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam has asked candidates to re-register with the Employment Exchange Centres before 29th February 2024.

Eligibility requirements : Any citizen of India who are over 14 years and who are permanent resident of the state of Assam is qualified to register their name on the Employment Exchange of the State of Assam.

District : Candidates can register on only one Employment Exchange in the state where they reside permanently within the District’s boundaries.

Eligibility Criteria for Registration in Employment Exchanges of Assam

Age Limit: Citizens of India who are over 14 years old and who are permanent residents of the state of Assam are capable of registering their names on the Employment Exchange of the State of Assam.

Domicile : Candidates can register at only one Employment Exchange in the state in which they are permanent residents of the District’s jurisdiction.

NOC for Applicants who are Employed : The applicants who are employed and are seeking new employment must be registered only upon presenting a “No Objection Certificate” issued by the employer.

How to Apply for Online Employment Exchange Registration?

Candidates who wish to apply for Employment Exchanges online mode should apply via the official website of the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Assam. In essence, there are two ways for Online Employment Exchange Registration – AADHAAR-based Verification and Non-AADHAAR-based Verification.

AADHAAR Based Verification

In the AADHAAR Based Verification process, candidates may simply apply online via the official portal using their AADHAAR Card and a permanent address in the state of Assam. Candidates don’t have to go to any Employment Exchange/s physically. Thus, candidates with having AADHAAR Card can follow the below steps.

# Scroll down and go to the section titled Important Web-Links.

# Click on the Online Employment Exchange Registration link.

# Official online exchange registration site will soon be available.

# Click on the “Register” button; Enter your full name, email address as well as Mobile Number and Password.

#Click the Submit Button.

# Then, select Apply using the AADHAAR option.

# Login to the portal by entering your Login ID as well as the OTP/Password.

# Now, fill in all the information required .

# Please scan the entire Educational Qualification (Pass Certificate & Mark sheets chronologically from lowest level to the highest level) into one PDF file and upload it as a single PDF.

# After successful submission of your application, Employment Exchange Card (X 10) will be sent to the applicant’s email address. 

Non-AADHAAR Based Verification

People who don’t possess an AADHAAR card have to use a non-AADHAAR Verification Method to get an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate. The applicants must physically visit the Employment Exchange office/s for verification of their documents. The online application procedure for non-AADHAAR Based Verification is described below.

# Click on the Online Employment Exchange Registration link.

# Official online exchange registration website will shortly be open.

# Click on the “Register” button; Enter the full name, email id as well Mobile Number or Password

# Click the Submit Button .

# Next, select Apply with no AADHAAR option.

# Login to the portal by entering your Login ID as well as the OTP/Password.

# Enter all of your personal and educational information.

# Choose the the date and time to verify of documents.

# Visit the employment exchange office to get the document verification.

# Follow the appropriate guidelines and procedures as described by the concerned officials.

# After that, you will receive your Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

Documents Required for Online Employment Exchange Registration

Phone Numbers: Candidates require an active and current mobile number to finish the online registration procedure.

Documents related to educational qualifications : Candidates are required to submit one PDF file of all their marks sheets. Make sure that all copies of the documents must be scannable and visible, or else your application will be denied.

Age Evidence: Candidates have to provide any of the documents listed below to prove their age.

# Birth Certificate.

# HSLC Admit Card.

# School Certificate.

Documents to prove residency: Candidates are required to provide one of these documents to prove their residency.

# AADHAAR Card that has a permanent address in Assam. Assam.

# Driving License (Self or Parents).

# Copy of Chitha/Jamabandi (Self or Parents).

# Copy of Passport (Self or Parents).

# Certified Copy of Electoral Roll/EPIC (Self or Parents).

Candidate’s Caste certificate: Candidates need to upload their certificate of caste if they fall under the SCor ST OBC/MOBCor EWS category.

PWD (Person with Disabilities): candidates must upload an official disability certificate from the appropriate authority.

Experience Certificate: Previously employed candidates can upload the relevant experience certificates.

Non-Creamy Layer Certificate: OBC/ MOBC-NCL candidates can upload a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate depending on the situation.

Registration Fee for Employment Exchange Card

Employment Exchange Registration is completely free and candidates are not required to pay any fees imposed by the law to get an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate in Assam. If you apply via PFC/ CSC, you could be required to pay for the following fees as per the rules appropriate.

* Statutory fees: NIL

# Service fee (through PFC/CSC) : Rs. 30

# Cost for printing (in the event of printing using PFC/CSC) : Rs. 10 per page

# Scanning cost (if documents are scanned with CSC or PFC) : Rs. 5 per page.

# Convenience cost: Rs. 10

Renewal of Employment Exchange Registration Certificate

  • Each registrant must renew their registration every three (3) years within the month that is due as noted on the registration card.
  • Failure to renew the registration even after the expiry in grace (3 months) could result in the cancellation of the registration and removal from the Live Register maintained in the Employment Exchange.
  • No renewal request or renewal of registration after the expiration of the due month or grace period will be considered under any circumstance.
